18 Year Old Starting out

My name is angel (Im 18 years old and enrolled at UC Davis), I currently live in Sacramento. I have been reading about real estate since I was fifteen but I never had a chance to put into action due to my age; however, this summer I took an internship at some brokerage and I have decided to become a real estate agent. I currently have three thousand dollars and my goal is to invest in my first property in four years. Any advice? Does anyone living close to Sacramento offer any internships? I know I am young and I've been told to wait a couple years but I am eager to getting started for my retirement!
