Investors too early?

I'm sure this a problem many wish they had but I have an opportunity to have multiple investors. My business partner and I can get properties much sooner if we accept funds from others but we'd also make less on each. It seems to me that getting started and having more properties is best, but does anyone think the downside to involving others outweighs the upside?
