Updated over 7 years ago,
I need some serious advice...
Hello Everyone!
I have been interested in real investing for awhile now, and now I'm in a position to finally make it happen. I've read some really good books, and I have a friend here that has made millions from real estate that has been very supportive and showers me with knowledge anytime I need it. My plan is to start next year (because I'll have saved up a pretty big chunk of cash by then), start an LLC and move forward from there. Meanwhile, I'm busy building my "team" and getting all my ducks in a row before starting.
One of the problems I'm stuck on is the LLC part, and here's why. First of all, I am currently working in Afghanistan and am actually "homeless" right now. In other words, I don't really have a "Home State" that I can list as the State for my LLC. Of course, I've been considering DE, NV, and WY, but I'm still not sure how that will affect me while working here in Kabul. I will be doing most, if not ALL, of my business in DC, MD, and VA. So my questions are, should I...
1. Go with an LLC DE, NV, or WY because they are supposedly the best States to start an LLC.
2. Go with an LCC in either DC, MD, or VA and places all properties, regardless of where they are located under that SINGLE LLC.
3. Form an LLC is EACH State (DC, MD, or VA) and place properties in the RESPECTIVE locations.
Please help me out and push me in the right direction. I'm brand new at this, so any and all expert advice is appreciated. Thanks in advance.
