What is the best way to "Look" at a property as a Non-Agent?

Hi everyone,

So in my spare time, I am watching for listings on multi's.  I expect that listing agents get a barrage of emails and calls when the listing is posted. So what is the best way for a new investor to get the most information from the agent to get a good sense of what they are working with?  (I am looking in close proximity, but broaden your responses as if I were doing this remote.)
