I work pipeline construction

Hi guys my name is Kevin. I'm working on the oil/gas pipeline construction through out Texas/Oklahoma. I recently started listening more on to the bigger pockets podcast. The more I listened a light bulb lit up on top of my head. Real Estate is the way to go! I'm currently buying my first house and realized that I should've got into a duplex/trip or fourplex as my first purchase. I want to get into my first investor deal. I have one problem though, 'm always following the pipeline so I'm not always in one stable place or have a lot a time. Is there anybody out there that's in my position or in a similar situation invested in RE? I really want to get my feet wet here in Texas RE or anywhere really. Any tips on how I can started would be greatly appreciated. I'm intristed in DFW, Austin, San Antonio, Houston, El Paso areas
