Hope all is well BP community! My name is Patrick and I’m sure like many of you at some point in your life an interest sparked that led you toward this real estate community. What I’m hoping to outline with this introduction is a brief introduction about myself, current goals, some general questions and hopefully some guidance towards the right direction. Definitely would like to thank anyone in advance for taking the time to visit this discussion.

To begin I am currently living in Sunnyvale, CA and although an amazing place to live, we all know how much the cost of living is out here slap dab in the heart of the Silicon Valley. Right now I am currently working a full-time job in the Talent Aquisition field along with serving part time in the Army National Guard. Before the interest in real estate the thought of passive income and making money while I sleep was the path I’d work towards after realizing the typical 9-5 lifestyle wasn’t going to ever get me to financial freedom. So yes I pretty much went on the google search bar and typed in some typical phrases like “Passive Income Ideas” and ended up trying several such network marketing, monetizing blogs, thinking of a youtube channel to create, affiliate marketing w/ Amazon, and several other ideas that didn’t really catch my interest or attention span. It wasn’t until last year that one of my best friend’s sparked up the conversation with real estate and how his dad was looking into properties in other states. So on and so forth I ended up in the real estate section in barnes and nobles and picked up “The Book on Rental Property Investing” by Brandon Turner and long story short here I am on this amazing website learning about anything and everything on rental properties.

First and foremost, educating myself will always be a never-ending consistent goal. But specifically I’d like to invest in rental properties up in Northern California primarily in Sacramento, California.

  • With an FHA loan obtain a single family home and rent out the rooms through Airbnb.
  • With an FHA loan obtain a single family home and rent out the rooms.
  • Through a partnership obtain a single family home and rent out the rooms through Airbnb.
  • Through a partnership obtain a single family home and rent out the rooms.

* What draws me towards Airbnb rental properties is the versatility you can charge whether it’s the whole house, separate rooms, and or separate living spaces. Also prices can fluctuate depending on how long someone occupies the home (Single nights, weekends, certain time frames), and depending on if some type of event is happening around the area.

General Questions:

  • What first steps did you take to make sure you spoke to the right lender to help process any kind of loan?
  • Anyone consider the concept of Airbnb as their first investment to work towards?

Definitely would like to thank anyone in advance for taking the time to visit this discussion, hopefully as I navigate through this forum I will find the guidance to gear me towards the right direction and eventually be able to provide that guidance for others as well.
