Hello everyone!

My name is Jose Arismendi and I'm a new investor looking to gain experience in the real estate industry. I work full-time as a structural engineer for a private firm in Fairfield NJ and look to work part-time in real estate. 

My goal this year is to acquire a multi-family property (Buy and Hold) in the northern NJ area (Bergen, Essex, Morris, Hudson & Passaic counties) while also house-hacking. I'm familiar with these areas and think this is a great way to start investing.

Furthermore, I'm interested in concentrating on one particular niche which is buying and holding rental properties. I also look to connect with more investors that I can assist and learn from.

Check out What Biggerpockets Can Do For Your Business. I know it's long, but if you're serious about your commitment to real estate investing take the time to read through it. It does an admirable job of describing one of my favorite features among many others: keyword alerts. Keyword alerts can go a long way towards having topics of interest to you delivered directly to your inbox and keeping you engaged, and engagement will bring you that much closer to success!

Additionally, do not underestimate the power of the search box at the top right of your screen. Many new members tend to ask questions that have been asked numerous times over and reap a fleck of the information that they could if they searched for their topic of interest first.

Also, the @ mentions feature is a fantastic resource to call your colleagues or other members already in a conversation. Simply type "@" and the person's name then click on their name and it pops up.

As @Johnathan Boyle mentioned the podcasts are another great resource at your disposal to learn real estate investing and the various things it has to offer.
