Educating myself on REI, I am around Houston. Any advise?

After doing some research and studying, I am excited about the opportunities with REI. Lifestyles unlimited seems to be a great resource in the Houston area and I plan on visiting some of their workshops and case studies. I would also like to know of any other groups that could possibly benefit me. I am 23 years old and want what's best for me and my family, real estate seems to be the path I will take.
