Southern IN - wanting to get into real estate, where to start?

Hello BP'ers!

I was just informed about this site and like what I have seen thus far. My wife and I have been wanting to get into the game, but do not have any idea as far as "where to start".  

Do we need to start an LLC first or just jump in by researching and purchasing our first rental?

We have about $25k cash to invest for our first property and would like to stay under that budget including purchase and rehab cost.  I guess we could have some financing but as Dave Ramsey says "buy rentals with cash".

Where do we begin?
