Begin investing with little money with school

Hi guys,

I just graduated from undergraduate with a B.S. and I was accepted to PA school for jan 2018. I have a  year off to work. Over the past 6 to 7 months I have been reading and diving into as much real estate investing blogs, forums, and books as I can. I would love to get started investing in real estate this year before I begin school. As most young graduates. I do not have much money to begin investing with. I am from the central mass area and am interested in multi-family/single family homes. I have debated house hacking and moving into a multi family and renting out other units. However, getting a loan is a very slim option for me, because I am not currently employed in a very high paying job. Ideally I would like to invest in a home without directly moving into that home. I have debated hard money/private money lenders, however I am not sure if this is the best route for me. I am looking into the Worcester, MA area.

Does anybody have any advice for me? I am open to an ideas or suggestions. Many people have suggested that I wait until I am done school and have a decent paying job to begin, however I am still trying to find a way to begin this year.

Thanks guys!
