Newbie starting out in South Africa

Hi All

I have recently been introduced to Bigger Pockets on Soundcloud by my fiance. I have always been interested in real estate development/flipping but have never really followed through with anything. I was wondering if anyone in South Africa had any tips on starting out as i know there are different obstacles we face to other parts of the globe?

I run a property maintenance company and am constantly exposed to various opportunities in and around my area. 

At the moment, my fiance are looking get get 1 or 2 small flats to either renovate and flip or buy and hold.

I would appreciate any advise from people wiser than myself.
