Where is money needed?

It is going to take me a little while to find the right property to buy and I have decided to earn some returns on my cash while I look around for the right property. (Rich, thanks for the idea!)

I am interested in doing short-term lending of around 30-days or so. Unlike Rich & Will, I am not an expert on RE so I would like to do the lending locally rather than nationwide. I am thinking of temporarily relocating to a place where there is good demand for cash and where I can get started quickly.

I would appreciate it if the exerienced guys on BP can give me some idea about which cities might be easiest to get started in right now. That is, where is a lot of rehabbing happening and the market is good enough to allow a new person to walk in and get some deals going quickly?

Ideally, I would rather be in the sunbelt than in Detroit in winter, so please suggest some place between Vegas and Florida.

Thanks so much for your help! This site has been a wonderful experience thanks to all of you.
