When patience and determination pay off

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Indeed, it is a great start to the new year for me.

Just wanted to share a personal success:

I have been searching for ways to obtain an absentee owner list for my direct mail campaign, but was having the most difficulty as I needed to find a list for free or relatively cheap. I have been back and forth to my county websites, on the phone with the county clerk, walked into the assessor's office, to no/limited avail.

Well, the other day I stumbled upon a county website that had a list of almost ALL the properties in the county; there was an export button (oh my, how the wheels of my genius excel skills began to turn). 279,000 was the list number, I hit export only to open a blank spreadsheet. What happened, why is it not exporting the information like it said it would? SN: I would have just copied and format pasted the info in excel only it was not presented in a copy and paste format, they were in "tabled" boxes with drop down menus that housed the details (this is the info I needed).

So yesterday, New Year's Day, I decided to give this another try. I noticed before that when I hit the export button, it changed status and continued to blink "exporting" as opposed to the original "export". I let that baby export for the entire day and wouldn't you know the sheer joy I experienced this morning when I clicked the file and the entire list of 279,000 properties came to life right in front of my face!

My goal for 2017 is to become a real estate investor by any means necessary; I am not giving up this dream!

So this is just a story of someone who knew there was a way but could not find it for 6 plus months and after much patience and persistence, got her first little success.

Wishing you all much success and happiness in 2017.
