How do I go about pulling about title info on houses w/o paying?

I'm a new investor based out of Southern California, primarily the Inland Empire. My partner and I went driving for dollars last week and found several distressed properties in our region. We have information on most of them but are having trouble finding the owner's full name on properties that are vacant. I feel these properties show the most investment potential as they are in bad shape and the mailing addresses from tax assessor's office are different from the site addresses. Any advice on how to pull more owner information so that I can direct mail them?

Much appreciated,

Miguel

You need o connect with a title agent at a title company.  Most will set you up with an account where you can pull 100 title searches per month for no cost.  In return for them giving you this access, you send business their way.
