Please help a beginning investor

A question to the BP community, is it possible to be successful in real estate investing without paying thousands of dollars right out of the gate for "training" or "coaching"? I am ready to get started and I know I'll be successful but I don't have a bunch of cash to part with at this point in time. Please help me. I want to get going but I'm not willing to bankrupt myself in the process. Thank you

Don't spend more than $99 on anything. Watch the pod casts, buy some books. Go to local meetups. All that other stuff is BS IMO.
