Going from a SFH to a Duplex

My wife and I are currently living in a SFH that we are rapidly out growing. We are thinking about building a duplex to house hack. We currently have about $30,000 equity in our current house and the new duplex is going to be about $350,000 to $375,000 with the lot.

What are some of the financing options I have to make all this work during the construction process? My current house is on a VA loan, but from what I understand I can't use my VA loan until the very end of the construction process.

Thanks
