Beginning real estate investor in north Georgia

Hey everyone! I am new to the forum so I thought I'd introduce myself and hopefully get some advice on starting out! My husband and I have been talking about getting into the real estate business for a couple years now and have been doing lots of research. Any one have advice for someone just starting out? Thanks!
