Question about becoming an agent for investing purposes

Hello all,

I read the guide for becoming a real estate agent and it was informative but I have one question that it didn't seem to answer. The question is: I don't want to be a real estate agent at all...I merely want access to MLS. It seems like an awful lot of work to get and maintain a license just for investing purposes. Has anyone done this and how well is it working? Are you stuck paying brokerage fees just to use MLS? If someone could give me a rundown on this to help me understand a little better I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks!
