Jobs in Real Estate

What jobs for someone in another industry would be most helpful for someone looking to become a real estate investor? Of course, I know the best answer is probably just become a real estate investor, but we are going to need more W2 income to get where we need to be.

Question 1b is, would it make more sense to get a realtor license? We are trying to weigh our options.

Well, construction is a big help. I know lots of licensed contractors that flip houses. First of all, gaining the title Realtor means a completely different thing. You have to take more classes and have more experience. But getting a real estate license won't necessarily make you an investor. Start reading books, and listening to Podcasts in investing. And try to attend local meet up groups. Maybe you can find a mentor that will help you understand.

Also, sometimes people will go out and just buy a property that needs minor work and rent it out. You will learn as you ago. But buying a property rather than spending $10K on classes is far better. Good luck.
