Confuse about liability in a Land Trust LLC structure

Hello, I am planning to buy a property. I read that I should create a land trust where an LLC will be the beneficiary. My name will not be in the trust, but then I will be the trustee(so my name is not recorded in the county). But, what is something happens? If I am the trustee I could be liable as an individual, right?. So I just dont see how I am protected. I will think I am protected if the LLC is the trustee and I am the beneficiary. That way my personal assets are protected since I am just the beneficiary and as the member of the LLC my personal property will not be part of a litigation. The way I see it is reverse to what everyone says. Can someone please explain where I am wrong?

Thank you
