Hi guys! I am reaching out for some guidance/suggestions. I have been an accountant for a real estate company for the last 4 years. I am realizing that my passion is not accounting, but the actual investing in real estate (analyzing potential deals, development projects, flips, etc). I am looking to get out of an accountant position, and into one that allows me to be involved in the deals themselves. I am looking for a smaller company, in hopes that I get to touch more areas and aspects of the deals. I do not have a problem utilizing my background in financials (such as working with a developer and doing the numbers portion of the deal), as long as I get to use my creativity to some extent (ex:-we want to do xyz, but only have enough for xy, what can we do to get all three). Does anyone have any suggestions on what type of companies in the Columbus area I should reach out to, or offer any suggestions on what role that would be? In my experience, any job labeled as “accountant” deals more with entering journal entries and closing month end (stuff I want to get away from). Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks!

Heather
