Renting Containers for storage

I have a plot of land in the outskirts of Toronto. I heard that renting containers for inventory and storage is a viable business. My uncle told me that he knows a shipping container builder that can make containers of any desired dimensions. I'd like to know if there are any legal procedures to follow for renting storage space in containers. And, I want to know what things to keep in mind while renting containers.
