First Purchase to Rehab!

I hope this hasn't happened to any of you before!  BP community need your solution ideas! Our first project is really going/gone South do to a shady Contractor. Probably needed to have done a better job of investigating the person since I don't live in the area.

So we are (just did the math)123 days (+ or -) into this process that the contract stated should take 30-40 days! Yes, unfortunately all the estimated monies have been paid. I know, our bad! I have asked for the job to be finished and have gotten three different done by dates. The latest is the middle of June because of not being able to schedule a Building Inspection before then. An outright lie, because I called and found out that they come out within 24 hrs.

I have been able to get inside to see the 'lack thereof' of progress which doesn't look like a 20 day to completion task. I have someone who needs to move-in ASAP.   Another big problem is rain water standing in the pool!  Any ideas would be appreciated! Also any BP'ers live in the Gainesville, FL area?

Thanks for listening, am planning a face to face next week.

Linda
