First Time Investor - Colorado

Hey guys,

I recently purchased a primary residence in Centennial, Colorado using a buy and hold strategy. It needs a bit of work, which I plan to do over the next 5 or so years and then sell. I thoroughly enjoyed the real estate purchasing process and the hot market in the Denver area has got me salivating over investing.

We used a VA loan to purchase our primary residence, and thus didn't have to put a large down payment down. What we did have saved for a down payment, I'm looking to use as an initial investment in real estate.

We have about $15k to invest, and I'm wondering what advice everyone could provide as far as types of investing. I'm considering a rental apartment to purchase and landlord myself, but wondering if anyone has advice on their first real estate investment?
