U.S. Army Soldier/Investor in Need of Some Help Starting Out

I hope this post finds all of doing well, I love this forum and everything BP stands for. I've been on the sidelines too long and I'm truly ready to start investing on the side as I continue to serve our country.  I read a lot about investing and it can get overwhelming to say the least. I just want to get my feet wet and don't know where to start exactly. Finding a mentor is my priority, I haven't been successful as of today.  Any advice/help would be greatly appreciated, I'm in Indiana and highly motivated. Experienced mentors out there, I'm ready to take the next step. Let's go!!!!
