Purchase a home fast! How?

I'm just starting out in this game and I'm trying to find an investment property fast because I will be going on deployment soon, and I want to start investing before I go. For me I know that I will have much greater odds of sticking with this if I can make the first plunge before I leave for deployment, as I won't be getting back until 2017. I don't need to close before I leave, I just need to find a deal and my wife can carry it through with a power of attorney. The obstacle that I'm going to overcome, hopefully with you beautiful peoples help, is coming up with a strategy to find that deal, as I don't think it's a good idea to start marketing when I'm leaving in about a month. So with about $10,000 that I could put up for a down payment, how can I find and finance a buy and hold investment property in 1 month?
