Can some you explain what Private Money Lenders are vs Hard Money

I'm a little confused, I've read a few articles on Private Money Lenders but whats the differences vs Hard money lenders?

Are they not the same thing?

and which one is the better way to go?

I want to start investing right away but funds is what I am lacking. I've considered private money lenders instead of banks.
