So i'm from Southern California my parents are selling they're homes out in Mexico and would like to invest out in Texas ( we can't afford CA at this time). We might get enough money from the houses being sold and maybe buy something cash? something small to start out? My dad is going to retire and I want to help him out and getting him a home but he wants to invest in something. My sister applied for a home loan and we are waiting to see what happens. I want to do the same maybe get some thing bigger if were together? the both of us have 9 to 5 jobs.  Should we me/dad/sister try moving out there get jobs then apply for a loan? use money dad has for a loan. What would be the best thing to do? not buy a house invest in a duplex? hope it makes some sense thanks!
