Newbert Down in The Woodlands, TX
Hello All,
Aspiring real estate in the Woodlands, TX/Spring, TX Area. 2 years out of college, living and working in The Woodlands as an Engineer for a downstream Oil and Gas company. Really exited and looking forward to making my first investment. Have been reading, listening to BP podcast for close to half a year now, and have begun the search for deals. I feel like I'm getting closer and closer to one each day!! My primary interests are in buy and hold single-family and multifamily rental properties. Hopefully I will uncover my first deal soon. Ultimate goal is to supplement my current income and build wealth.
As you may have imagined, since I've began searching a number of questions have popped up. The BP forums alone have been instrumental in answering most of my questions, however I feel like I've gotten to a point where I need to start asking for answers rather than searching for them.
With that being said, I wanted to ask...since I've started I've done a number "drive for dollars" type excursions. Normally, I'll go to a neighborhood I'm unfamiliar with, or to a neighborhood where I've spotted a potential deal. Often, I stop and speak with many of the residents within these neighborhoods. My question is, what should I be asking these people when I stop to talk to them? Most of the time it's just "how do you like the neighborhood", "how are the schools?", "how's the HOA?", and "what else do you like about the neighborhood?", is there anything else I should be asking when scoping out a neighborhood? any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Travis Glenn
