new to this, looking for resources (books/websites)

I'm not just looking for general resources, though, I'm looking for things pretty specific. a friend loaned me Rich Dad's / Robert Koyaski's "6 Steps to Becoming a Successful Real Estate Investor." which it got me excited, I was a bit disappointed at the lack of depth.

for example, they talk about crunching the numbers being vital to find out what's a good buy. yet they don't talk about what those crucial numbers are and how to calculate a good deal from a bad one.

I figured some of it might be common sense, but when I googled "real estate investment calculator" I was kind of astounded at how complex it seemed. can anyone recommend a good book or site that goes into the details on these sorts of things?

I'm essentially interested in how to get the numbers, and how to crunch & analyze them.

for example (this is a random question, and shouldn't be taken to be indicitive of ALL of the sorts of questions I have): how to you figure out what a property would rent for, generally?

I'm more interested in things from the cash flow standpoint than flipping, if that makes a huge difference.

any general real estate investing book suggestions that focus on cash flow I'd also be interested in.
