Is It Possible To Start Investing In Real Estate During College?
So a couple weeks ago my AP Economics teacher mentioned a book titled Rich Dad Poor Dad, by Robert Kiyosaki, a book my dad recommended me to read a few years back and I am sure most of you have read it. So I picked it up, read the first page and was done in a week (might I say I am not into reading.... novels.) I realized I'm obsessed with reading. That book changed my life. Currently I am now reading The Book on Rental Property Investing by Brandon Turner, Trump: The Art of the Deal by Donald Trump, and Retire Rich Retire Young by Robert Kiyosaki. Yeah, might be a little much all at once. Anyways, sorry for the back story but I really want to invest in real estate now. Basically my question is, do you think it'd be possible to invest in real estate during college? I'm a senior in high school right now. And if it's possible, would you recommend it? I'm working hard right now to save up enough money to have a decent sized down payment by the end of freshman year. I plan on getting an FHA loan on a multi-family home and living in one unit and moving on from there.

I think starting your first investment while in college is a great idea. It will allow you to build equity in yourself, hopefully get some cash flow and with a little luck, maybe even have the mortgage paid off completely before you seek your primary residence. Just my $.02
