Hello everyone. I'm really excited on getting started in the real estate game. A little about me; I'm 25 and two months newly married to my beautiful wife Christina. She is a singer/song writer and I am a contractor working for my dads construction company. (Nick's Construction) I've been doing this for 10 years now and feel that I know the market, but being recently married I don't have much cash. So I have a few questions. 1. How do I find a private investor? 2. Should I go for a HML? 3. What would it cost me to do this? 4. Anyone willing to mentor me? Or how do I find a mentor? Thank you

@Jonathan Vese Welcome to Bigger Pockets! Congratulations on your recent marriage too. Is your wife excited about real estate investing too? If you both have the passion, jump into it together! Listen to some BP podcasts together. Get into reading blogs and participating in the forums. Search for key words to find some of the answers to your questions. Once you have explored a bit, discern how you want to apply your skills and the type of investing that fits you best.

I'm in Vancouver too. My husband and I are buy and hold investors. We purchase, improve/rehab and rent out single family homes and small plexes. We manage our own residential rental portfolio (17 units).  I'd be glad to talk with you sometime. Locally, I mentor quite a few people new to landlording. That is one aspect of real estate investing, which may or may not appeal to you. But if you decide to buy and hold, I'd be glad to share my expertise about landlording. We may be the opposite of you, in that the purchasing is easier for us than the rehabbing! Send me a message!

Also, you may want to post your introduction in the BP "New Member Introductions" forum!
