Anyone with Experience House Hacking in Atlanta Area?
Hi BP community! My name is Casey, and I'm trying to narrow down my strategy and criteria for my first rental property.
I'd like to get started in an affordable area, and Atlanta came to mind. Coming from Chicago, the price of real estate seems to be more affordable in the Atlanta area.
I specifically would like to house hack a small multifamily (duplex or triplex) by using an FHA loan where I occupy one unit and rent out the other(s).
My question is has anyone found success doing this in the Atlanta area? Are there a decent amount of affordable, small multifamily properties? Or are they pretty much picked up by more experienced veterans?
I'd love to hear some feedback for anyone who has made it work for them! Thanks!
