Networking in Orlando, FL

I recently signed up to attend the local Central Florida Real Estate Investment meeting. The day of the meeting I went to attend the meeting but no one showed up except for other newbie investors. I was hoping to networking with an experience buy and hold investor to help teach me the rope. I'm even willing to work a few deals for my education. So, anyone can provide any help or insight on my steps, it will be greatly appreciated.
