Single Family House, Dupl, Tripl, and Quad. What's the difference

Hello BP people!

I have a very basic question. First, I do want to say that I looked into the BP articles and forum to see if someone else has asked the same question, but either I didnt look hard enough or in reality no one has come up with this question yet. I also tried to see if I could find any differences on pictures I got from google, but nothing. I got the exact same picture for single family house and duplex.. lol

Alright.. What are the actual differences among a single family house, a duplex, a triplex, and a quadruplex? I want to have a clear idea of how I can differ from one to another.. The amount of bedrooms, maybe the number of floors?
