Newbie looking for mentor

Where is the best place to find a mentor? I am graduating college soon, and will have plenty of time every week that I would like to devote to learning real estate. I have arranged with the head of the Genesee Landlord Association (In Flint, MI) to attend some meetings. Would this be a good place to find a mentor? I cannot think of anywhere else to meet someone that it doing what I someday hope to do.
