Full time job/learning the ropes

Hello BPers! Just starting out and I've been making my way through the Podcasts. Two subjects that have come up often (at least in the first 70 episodes) are investing while working a full time job and working for a person/company that's doing what you want to do, to learn the ropes. These subjects have been discussed separately and my question to the forum is, what would you suggest to a person (like myself) that works a full time job and is interested in learning the ropes from a person/company? I'm very willing to put in the work, whatever that would be and am interested in learning from the bottom up (aka, starting in the mail room). Besides this I've been using my time now to learn via this site, podcasts, free web seminars, books, etc. I've found my local REIA and another group to network with. I'm using the winter/down season to learn and looking to pull the trigger on my first property in Spring. Thanks in advance for your input! Very much appreciated!
