Buying Second Rental Property

Earlier this year in June I bought my first home with an fha loan. I'm renting the rooms out and living there. I am a waiter at a restaurant and when I applied for the loan I needed two years of taxes since I get paid in tips and not a set salary. So my question is how long do I need to wait to apply for another loan? Do I need to prove on my taxes that I have income from renting and show that my house is getting paid? I was told I need at least two years of taxes with rental income. Could I us this first half of a year from June to December as my first year and the next year as my second and buy my second home in 2017?
