Apartments and villas

hi, my name is tizia im new to real estate investing in properties however my dream is to own mutilpe apartment complex as well a villas across the world, im currenlty in the field of hospitality so im aware of property management and how to take care of guests and maintenance issues. My question to you is how does someone start to build an 8 or 12 unit modern apartment building with (little to no income) 

I would like to start this process as soon as possible, possibly by the begining of the year 2016 do you have any suggestions for me?
