BP is my #1 source of RE info 1 week into this

These 2 questions are very basic as a new BP member as I try to get started off in the world of real estate. "What's the first thing I should do after I pass the licensing test?" and "What cost range am I looking at in order to get access to the MLS system in the Houston area"? These would be very helpful to know if I really want to go off in this area. I tried to go to a recent RE convention that was $100 just to get through the door. How costly is getting into this area? Thanks.
