I Already own land and want to build apartments on it

I currently own about 1 acre of land in a pretty good neighborhood. There are 10 schools within a 10 mile radius and it is your typical "neighborhood". I was wondering how many units would someone typically be able to build on 1 acre of land? I was wanting to put the buildings in a U shape and put the parking in the middle. Im just looking for some cost estimates and unit estimates.
