Optioning a Option?

I have a person who has an exclusive option on a three properties. Can I also have them sign an option?

They want $1000 dollar deposit (they are other wholesalers), but there is still plenty of room to make some more money.

They made a verbal agreement to give me anything over 30k, on the package, and I think I could assign it for 40k.

He will not sign a birddog agreement because he is a realtor and says he cant do that..

What are my options???
