I'll be moving to a Baton Rouge next fall to attend LSU. I'm a military vet and will be using my post 9/11 to go school which means I'll be receiving BAH (1400). I'd like to buy a home/duplex/condo something I can live in as well as rent to bring in a little extra cash and get the experience of being a renter. My plan is for this to be my first investment that will set me on a path to many more great real estate investments. Thinking about getting into real estate investing has always given me a thrill, so I'd like to do this right. I understand I'm not asking any straight forward questions, I'm just looking for any advice from experienced, successful investors. I'm new so anything you real estate vets wish you would of known when you began please share! Thanks!
