Getting Started
I've been doing quite bit of reading and studying on this forum with the hope that it would prepare me for buying my first rental property. Currently I am in the stage of saving money to make my first offer on a property. I still have around 8-10 months of working at my job to cover before I have the money I need.
I decided that during the period I worked I would put learn as much as I can and ask around about what I should start with, what loan should I get, should I buy a single family home, or a duplex. There are so many questions and I barely can get my head wrapped around how big this really is.
I want to be ready to buy a great deal, and become a great landlord once this 8-10 months is over.
So can you guys help?
ill give you an overview of what i've been working with so far. (im in maryland)
- Buy Townhouse in maryland area
- Buy Duplex
- Buy single family home, get roommates to pay rent
- Buy home in college park, rent out to kids in college
