REO'S

Hi Guys,
This Harry and I have 2 questions, I'm looking at buying my first REO, I went and looked at it with my repair guy so he can give me an estimate on the rehab, the next day the house was put on auction.com and they want 2000.00 deposit to be able to bid and the money is non refundable even if you dont win the house, is that how on-line auctions work ?
2nd question I am looking for a hard money lender, can anyone refer me to a good one, i am in Mass and found a few but they dont lend in Mass. you can e-mail me at [email protected]
