Planning to obtain RE (Agent) License and Be an Investor

Team
I met a Real Estate Broker recently from one of the renowned real estate companies here in CA. After that conversation, I thought it would make sense for me to become a Real Estate Agent (not because it was a motivating speech or anything like that). Just that, I thought for me to be a successful investor I better obtain a license and understand the in-depth details (and secrets) of the RE World. BTW, I am beginner investor coupled with this plan would be completely PART-TIME Investor and RE Agent.

I am expecting to buy this online course from one of the websites and write the test. Does that sound like a good idea to improve my skills in investing? Or only a license is more than enough and becoming an agent is immaterial? Thoughts and suggestions, please!

Cheers
Ram
