$0 to $1,000 per month in six months - Doable?
Hey gang,
I'm looking to move my family to California (my work only exists in Los Angeles) and the budget is tight due to the higher cost of…everything. That said, I sure could use an extra $1K per month - hence my interest in rentals.
Currently, my family and I live in Las Vegas (Henderson, really) and are looking around at rental properties in the Vegas/Henderson area. The (tentative) plan is to buy a property (or multiple properties?) in Vegas before moving to LA to get some cash flow to help offset the higher cost of living in Cali.
Regarding our situation, I'm pretty sure we could get a mortgage (or two). We currently rent a property and have little debt. We have zero experience in real estate but both my wife and I now students of Bigger Pockets and I'm now setting up meetings with investors in Vegas. In short, I'm hungry and not afraid of hard work. Just want to be smart when I make moves.
Many of the good deals in Vegas are long gone. Not sure if there are diamonds in the rough but I'm going to find out.
So, all that said, is the goal of $0 to $1K per month in six months doable? Pie in the sky?
Thanks everybody! I'm super excited to be part of the Bigger Pockets community.
