Trying to get started

Hi everyone. My name is Christina and I am trying to get started in real estate investing. I have attended a few seminars and was very fortunate to be able to listen to speakers that have changed my perspective on so many things. I have also been ready books. I had made contact  with a local investor who was going to walk me through my first few deals  but he seems to be MIA right now. I have heard of deals that require no money down and was hoping someone could offer me some information on how that is possible and where to find the listings that are drastically low as well as cash buyers in the area. I recently lost my job and have to make this work. Any tips anyone can offer me would be greatly appreciative.
