Missed opportunity and looking for suggestions

I had planned to attend a local REIA meeting last night but certain circumstances prevented me from being able to attend. This is a once a month meeting where beginners (as well as pros) can network and in my situation hopefully find a starting off point. I have business cards all ready but was not able to attend and may not have this type of meeting until January. Any suggestions on where to look for contacts/help.
