Building a Team - Timing

Hey guys,

I'm getting pretty close to the point where I feel comfortable enough to buy a property but I'm still about a year or so out from buying anything because I want to settle up a couple personal things before I jump in.

I was wondering if you can start building a team too early. I want to start talking to people (agents, contractors, CPA's, lawyers, etc), but I'm afraid they won't take me seriously if I tell them I'm still about a year out from buying anything.

Just wanted to see everyone's thoughts on this, maybe even some people that are in those professional positions now. Would you guys put time into a new investor that is still a little ways out from their first property?

Thanks ahead of time for any replies!
